Orca!!!
Night Stop: Moose Pass // Trail Lake Lodge
Sea otters are the cutest!
We head this morning to Seward, a mere 28 miles from our lodging. It is named for the Secretary of State who made the fortuitous Alaska purchase in 1867. We will drive through town to get associated, then get ready to board our vessel!
Our big adventure today is to get out on the water and see the National Park via a fast catamaran - a truly memorable and fantastic experience! We will depart on a 6-hour tour, complete with a National Park ranger and delicious meal included. Along the route, we will explore spectacular sights, seeking out marine and avian wildlife, all while the ranger provides information on the area’s ecology, history, and geology. We will also experience an active tidewater glacier, and could be so lucky as to see it calve before our very eyes! You’ll know when that happens…it sounds like thunder, and huge amounts of ice will plummet into the sea.
Tonight, we return to Moose Pass to spend more time with our friends, the Boyles. Jen, JD, and Ruby will be awaiting our return, ready to shower us once again with incredible hospitality and yummy food.
Activity Options: Kenai Fjords NP 6-hour cruise; town exploration; evening fire and relaxation

Night Stop: Seward // Harbor 360 Hotel
We head back into Seward this morning, and will be staying overnight in town. Let’s hit the trails! In order to really experience this stunning National Park, we will also get a chance to head out hiking. We can opt for Exit Glacier, Harding Icefield, or BOTH (depending on our adventure/energy levels that day, along with weather conditions). We will have JUST missed the visitor center operational dates, so we will be on our own in this gorgeous place. There’s a good chance that there will be less visitors in general - which is great! We can also explore the SeaLife Center today if the weather isn’t cooperating (this activity can be added in when accessible - we just have to be flexible!) And of course, there is always the option to have some fun in the local pubs in the evening…

Night Stop: Homer // Land’s End Resort
Today we head to the end of the Kenai Peninsula and reach the lovely town of Homer - the halibut capitol of the WORLD! So we might as well go fishing! We will plan to spend a half day on the charter, dependent on availability and weather. With good luck, we will also see whales and other marine wildlife while out. Our evening activity will include a visit to the fantastic and rowdy Salty Dawg, a local bar shaped like a lighthouse with dollars all over the walls. Locals, tourists, and fisherman frequent this iconic place, and we will have a good ol’ time there, indeed!
Activity Options: Halibut fishing (weather/availability dependent); Homer Spit; Salty Dawg Saloon
